JUSTIN M. ALTER

Justin M. Alter was born on August 19, 1973 in Kokomo, Indiana. He is a native of Burlington, Indiana and is a 1991 graduate of Carroll High School where he was valedictorian of his class.

He attended Purdue University from 1991 to 1993. Justin transferred from Purdue University to Indiana University in 1993 and graduated with High Distinction, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Social and Behavioral Science in 1996.


He attended Indiana University Law School at Indianapolis and received his Doctorate of Jurisprudence degree in 1999.

Prior to joining the Butcher, Ball and Lowry Law Firm in 2000, Justin practiced law in Indianapolis, Indiana, focusing on Collections and Bankruptcy work. Justin returned to Howard County because of his desire to practice law in his home community.

Since joining the Butcher, Ball, Lowry and Alter Law Firm, Justin has continued to practice law in the areas of Collection and Bankruptcy law. He has also expanded his practice into the areas of Elder Law, Estate Planning, Adoption, Guardianship, Probate and Personal Injury work. He is currently the attorney for the Town of Burlington.

In addition to his private practice, Justin also serves as a part-time Deputy Prosecutor in conjunction with the Drug Task Force in Howard County, Indiana. Justin is authorized to practice law in both the Northern and the Southern District Courts of Indiana. He is a member of the Indiana and Howard County Bar Associations.

In 2003, he was appointed treasurer of the Howard County Bar Association. He has participated in the Howard County Legal Aid program which provides legal services to the indigent. Justin is also an active member in the Kokomo, Indiana Rotary Club.

He has been a guest speaker at Estate Planning Seminars on Wills, Revocable and Irrevocable Living Trust, Elder Care law, Pour-over Wills, Durable Business Powers of Attorney, Healthcare Powers of Attorney, Living Wills, etc.
